Mr. Kenneth Ray Jordan, 64, of Frederick, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009. Born on Aug. 23, 1945, in Newark, Del., he was a son of the late Dewey and Rene Jordan.
Ken was the president of Dewey Jordan Inc., a highway and bridge construction company located in Frederick. He was also a successful real estate developer. Ken was an avid collector of antiques and art. His coupled passions for travel and history led him and his wife, Stephanie, to explore and experience many worldwide destinations.
Ken’s honor, integrity, and unconditional love will be forever remembered and eternally embodied by the countless lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Jordan, and four children: Debra Amsellem of Gaithersburg, Jennifer Gawronski of Westfield, N.J., Spencer Ash of Charlotte, N.C., and Ariana Ash of Frederick. He is also survived by five grandsons and two sisters, Gwendolyn Bausum, of Frederick and Kathy Holcomb, of Coos Bay, Ore. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Preston Jordan of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Ken will also be remembered with much love by his brothers-in-law, George and Andrew Makrides; his devoted mother-in-law, Ginny Makrides; his Monday night poker buddies, and his lifelong friend, George Littrell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 27, at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive, Frederick, MD 21701. The Rev. Dr. Larry L. Eubanks and the Rev. Burnis D. Barrett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
