I played music with Christian and Erin last night.
(Christian, if you don’t know, has been my musical partner since I was 12 years old. He is a superb drummer, and our musical vocabularies are pretty much identical. When we make rock music, we call it Verbatim.)
Erin’s studio in Cockeysville is awesome.
We played some songs we like (Jets to Brazil, Nada Surf, The Shins), we played some old Verbatim tunes (“Sure as Hell”, “Cops in your Room”), and a bunch of amorphous new stuff I’ve written and shared with them (“Midnight Curfew”, “Oftenwrong”, etc.)
But the best part was when we tried to play all the New Found Glory songs we could recall (n=2).
“If you’re a woman, and you call him Cindy Crosby, or you call them the Sedin Sisters, or you think “Two Girls No Cup” is funny, do you know what you’re doing? You are calling someone female to insult them.”—
